This year we are back above the beautiful Columbia River at Skamania Lodge: Tuesday May 19th through Thursday May 21st . \nWith a slightly modified timeline\, due primarily to lodge availability\, this is the perfect kickoff to the 2026 Memorial Day Weekend! \nBringing ports and our partners together is the essence of what we do at WPPA\, and it really is something the staff and our Executive Committee look forward to every year. Especially after a challenging legislative session\, in an uncertain moment\, seeing familiar faces and talking about the critical work of Washington ports could not come at a better time. You all continue to demonstrate the power of ports\, providing civic leadership and building projects and partnerships that bring prosperity to your communities. \nEach year\, our Spring and Winter Meetings convene more than two hundred people to discuss the latest issues facing our ports\, from exciting new ideas to longstanding challenges. This year’s Spring Meeting has an engaging agenda that includes a few adjustments to our usual format\, along with a great list of speakers that reflects your ideas for what ought to be covered.  And maybe more valuable than any individual speaker: you will be there! The rolling lawn of the lodge will be full of port leaders\, associate members\, invited guests\, and friends and family. In these off-schedule conversations you’ll find inspiration for the year ahead! \nPlease plan to come\, be engaged\, be excited\, be educated\, and be together! \nWe look forward to seeing all of you in Stevenson\, WA at Skamania Lodge this May\, \n  \nJack Ng\, Commissioner\, Port of South Whidbey\n2026 WPPA President \nEric ffitch\, Executive Director\nWashington Public Ports Association

SUMMARY:2025 New Commissioners Seminar - Marriott Tacoma Downtown
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 New Commissioners Seminar is attached to the Annual Meeting and more information will be posted 8 weeks prior to the event. \nThe New Commissioners Seminar happens every other year and it is an educational product we offer to newly elected commissioners\, new port staff\, and new executives who are trying to get up to speed on all things Washington ports. \nWe often get questions from people about whether you have to be a newly-elected commissioner to attend. The answer is definitive: NO! We have been joined in the past by commissioners who were appointed mid-term and had yet to have the chance to attend a New Commissioner Seminar; seasoned commissioners who wanted to brush up on the latest information; and we have had staff from ports who were eager to learn more about port basics. The goal here is education\, so we want to make sure that information is available to all. \nPlease email Mandy Lill with any questions and for sponsorship inquiries.

DESCRIPTION:2025 Spring Meeting Welcome\nAgenda\nRegistration\nFAQ\nSponsors\n \n \n \n \n 2025 Spring Meeting Welcome\nAgenda\nRegistration\nFAQ\nSponsors\n \n \n \n \n \nDear Port Colleagues and Friends: \nOn behalf of your WPPA Executive Committee\, I am excited to extend an invitation to our WPPA 2025 Spring Meeting. This year we are back in the Inland Northwest\, with the City of Spokane playing host at the ever-popular Historic Davenport Hotel\, May 14th – 16th. \nBringing our members together is the essence of what we do at WPPA\, and the energy and enthusiasm we see in the connections between our ports\, our associate members\, and our invited speakers helps power our work for the rest of the year. And in fact\, in that work we continue to see  “energy” and “power” are two of the issues that continue to unite our ports around challenges that require urgent attention. \nEach year\, our Spring and Annual conferences convene more than two hundred people to discuss the latest issues facing our ports and to gain valuable insight from our partners. This year’s Spring Meeting has an engaging agenda that includes a few adjustments to our usual format\, along with a great list of speakers that reflects your ideas for what ought to be covered.  And as important as any one speaker\, the hallways of the Historic Davenport Hotel will be full of port leaders and longtime collaborators seeking out quiet corners to talk about past projects\, future plans\, and the possibility for partnership. \nPlease plan to attend\, engage\, learn\, and connect.  We are excited to see all our members come together to discuss how we best represent the needs of our port communities. \nWe look forward to seeing all of you in Spokane! \nGlen Bachman\, Commissioner – Port of Everett\n2025 WPPA President \nEric ffitch\, Executive Director – Washington Public Ports Association
