2019 ANNUAL MEETING FAQ

Will I receive a confirmation of my seminar registration?
Confirmation of on-line registrations will be sent via email within 48 hours.  The confirmation will be sent to both the attendee and admin email addresses shown in the registration section.  If you do not receive a confirmation within 2 days, please do not hesitate to call 360-943-0760.

What is the dress code?
Dress is business casual.

Hotel Information:
Sleeping room rates at the Hotel Murano are $159/night for single and double occupancy; $169 for triple occupancy; $179 for quadruple occupancy plus applicable taxes and tourism fee.

(Note: the URL link will only allow attendees to reserve rooms on the group block dates listed on the contract, any guest who wishes to stay on the shoulder dates will need to contact the reservations or sales department directly to receive the group rate on the additional nights.)

You must cancel your room with the hotel at least 48 hours prior to your arrival or you will be charged one night’s stay plus taxes.

Check in is 3:00 pm, check out is 11:00 am.

To be assured of a room at this rate, you must make your reservation by Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after 5:00 pm, the lodging cut-off date (we have a limited number of rooms set aside at this rate so please make your reservations right away to be sure that you get a room.  In our contracted block, we have 118 rooms held Tuesday night; 158 rooms held Wednesday night; and 133 rooms held Thursday night. It is possible that the room block sells out PRIOR to the cut off date; Call early to assure you reserve a room).

Parking/Garage Rates:

Overnight self-parking is $16 daily and valet parking is $20 daily, both with unlimited in-and-out privileges.

Is there a registration deadline?
The WPPA seminar registration deadline is November 15, 2019.  The hotel reservation at the group rate deadline is October 29, 2019. We do have a limited number of rooms and this deadline does not ensure that we will have enough rooms for everyone so be sure to call early and make your reservation.  If you call to make hotel reservations before the group rate deadline and have trouble getting a room, please contact Missy Goodell at mgoodell@washingtonports.org or 360-943-0760.

What are the registration fees?
Please refer to the registration page. 

What does my registration fee include?
Your WPPA registration fee includes everything listed on the agenda.

Can I bring a guest and what portion of the event can they attend?
Yes you can bring a guest!  Guests are invited and encouraged to attend the Thursday evening reception and there is no additional fee.  The Ports breakfast during the meeting (Thursday morning) is for the registered attendees only, not guests and not Associate Members.

Do I need to register my guest?
Yes,
 please register your guest.  There is a place on the on-line registration form to register them.  This helps us to ensure that we order the proper amount of food for our evening reception.

I have food allergies/I’m a vegetarian. How do I let you know this?
There is a comment section on the registration form.  PLEASE note this information there so that we can be sure to order meals that are proper for your needs!  If you have any troubles with the form, have any questions or forget to add that in when you register, please contact Missy Goodell and she will be happy to help:  mgoodell@washingtonports.org or 360-943-0760.  Food allergy issues may be difficult to accommodate if communicated on-site.

What if I have to cancel?
A $75 administration fee will be charged for cancellations received after November 15, 2019 and for registrants failing to show.

Associate Member Reception - Wednesday, November 20, 2019 - 4:00 - 5:30 pm

This reception continues to be a popular session at this meeting! Take this opportunity for port members to network with our associate members early on in our meeting and join us Wednesday evening. This portion of the agenda will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and will immediately follow our general session. We will have a hosted bar with beer and wine and also some light hors d ’oeuvres. Associate Members have the opportunity to reserve a table where you can set up a booth to show our attendees what you have to offer. There is a limited number of tables so please make sure to contact Missy Goodell in the association office right away to reserve yours! This is a great opportunity to let our members know about the services you offer.

Here are the basic details:

Date: Wednesday November 20, 2019
Time: 4:00 to 5:30 pm (but the event usually runs longer)
Where: Hotel Murano, Tacoma – Room TBD
Cost: $175.00 per table. This cost does not include any free registrations. You and any staff working the table will still need to register as an attendee for at least Wednesday.
How Many: There are a limited number of tables available – only 20 - so reserve yours now!
