ESA is a multidisciplinary consulting firm that started in San Francisco in 1969. Our 60-person Seattle office is one of 18 offices nationwide. We also service Washington ports through our 12-person Portland office. ESA staff have provided services to Washington ports for over 25 years. Our services address both maritime and airport planning and include environmental engineering; environmental planning; shoreline and nearshore development, coastal and habitat restoration, fisheries, wetland delineations, upland and in-water permitting and regulatory compliance for local, state, and federal agencies (including SEPA and NEPA); mitigation design and monitoring; biological evaluations; air quality, noise quality, greenhouse gas emissions, stormwater and water quality, landscape architecture; cultural resources; and geospatial services. ESA’s clients include small and large Washington ports, transit and transportation agencies public works departments, and private developers. ESA has provided services to support new roads and road capacity and safety improvements; non-motorized corridors; transit centers; HOV and direct access projects; bridge repair, rehabilitation, or replacements; container and cruise terminals, ferry terminals; runway and airport facilities; and freight mobility projects.
