2018 SMALL PORTS SEMINAR WELCOME

Dear Port Colleagues and Friends:

Welcome to the 2018 WPPA Small Ports Seminar!

This year we’ve selected the Enzian Inn in Leavenworth as our venue for two days of education, discussion, and networking with your port peers.

This year’s seminar will officially run from 1:00 pm Thursday, October 18, to noon on Friday, October 19.  Please note that prior to the official start we will also be offering an optional Thursday morning intensive, which will focus on Communicating and Marketing on a Small Budget (you do not need to register for this optional session).  These topics are important to us all, and I highly recommend that you attend this session.  We'll be talking about communication with your constituencies, customers, potential tenants, businesses, and elected officials.  I hope through guidance from a communication professional and review of what has been successful at some of our ports we can help you build a winning program and achieve your goals.

All rooms at the Enzian Inn have been reserved for our group.  There is no release date.  If you wish to bring a pet, the Enzian's sister property, the Linderhof Inn, is right next door to the Enzian, and they allow pets.

We look forward to seeing you in Leavenworth!

Sincerely,

James Thompson, Deputy Director
Missy Goodell, Member Services Manager

Attention Associate Members:  "Speed-NETWORKING" Opportunity -  Thursday, October 18, 4:30 - 7:00 pm

We continue to receive very positive feedback regarding “Associate Member Speed Networking” so we’re going to offer it again this year!  On Thursday afternoon, the hotel will set up ten (10) 6’ tables in the same room as our reception (Continental Room).  You will set up your display on this table and at the end of our general session on Thursday; we will have our attendees move to that room to meet with you.  Some of our ports are unsure of how to get a project going or who to go to for the help they need.  This will be your chance to help guide them through this process and educate them on what your company can offer.  The “Speed Dating/Networking” portion of the meeting will start at 4:30 p.m. and run through the reception which begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues until 7:00 p.m.  You will be able to leave your display up during the reception and our experience from previous years is that folks continue to visit your tables during that time.  We are required to breakdown and leave the Continental Room after 7:00 p.m.

This is a first-come, first-served offer and the tables are limited. For the first ten (10) associate members who contact us, we will reserve a table for you.  You will be charged $150 for a table and this will include one free registration.  Any additional attendees from your firm will be charged the regular registration fee of $100 each.

Thursday Evening Reception Food: $500 (4 sponsorships available; as of 9/13/18, we have 3 Thursday Evening Reception Sponsors)
