2025 Finance & Administration Seminar FAQ

Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
Confirmation of on-line registrations will be sent to the attendee and admin email listed on the registration form within 48 hours.   If you do not receive a confirmation within 2 days, please do not hesitate to call 360-943-0760 or email Mandy.

What is the dress code?
Dress is business casual.

Hotel Information
WPPA sleeping room rates at the Marcus Whitman Hotel are $189 per night + taxes and fees for a double queen or a king room (our block includes: 20 rooms Tuesday, 60 rooms Wednesday, 60 rooms Thursday).

Reservations must be made by May 27th to guarantee the rates listed.  Once our contracted block of rooms has all been reserved, our block is “sold out”. However, you can still rent a room at standard hotel rates as long as the hotel has rooms available. The block may sell out any time prior to the cut-off date.

Lodging Reservations can be made online by clicking here; or by calling the hotel directly at 509-525-2200. When calling, be sure to specify that you are with the WPPA Finance and Administration Seminar. You will be asked to guarantee the reservation with a credit card.  Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.  The hotel has a 48-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival date will result in a charge for one night’s stay plus tax. For reservation-specific details, please review the cancellation terms in your confirmation email from the hotel.

Parking: The Marcus Whitman hotel does have their own parking and overnight parking is included in your room stay.

Pets: The Marcus Whitman is a dog friendly hotel. They charge $35 per night, plus tax, with a maximum charge of $70 per stay. Two dogs per guestroom are allowed, and a Pet Policy Agreement must be signed upon check in. To ensure a seamless stay, please let their front desk know prior to arrival if you’ll be bringing a pet. Is there a seminar registration deadline?
For the early bird registration rate, please register online by May 28th. The rate will increase after that date, and you will have until June 18th to register online. If you forget to register all together, you are welcome to register on-site but there will be an additional fee of $100.

What does my registration fee include?
The registration fee includes everything listed on the Finance and Administration Seminar agenda.

Do I need to register my spouse and is there a charge for them to attend?
There is no separate fee for a spouse to attend Thursday evening’s reception and dinner, but you do have to register your spouse in advance, so we have a proper head count for food. Please be sure to include their full name on the registration form when registering for this event.

I have food allergies/I’m vegetarian.  How do I let you know this?
There is a comment section on the registration form where you can note this information.  ALL special dietary requests must be ordered in advance of the meeting. We are not able to accommodate special dietary requests on the spot. If you have troubles with the form, questions, or forget to add that when you register, please contact Mandy via email as soon as possible: mlill@washingtonports.org or phone 360-943-0760 and she will be happy to help.

What if I have to cancel?
A $100 administration fee will be charged for cancellations received after Wednesday, June 18th and for registrants failing to show.

I’m not familiar with the Walla Walla area, where can I find information on restaurants and other things to do?
Walla Walla is a vibrant community with plenty of local activities, great restaurants, and beautiful wineries. Many of these places are within walking distance of the Marcus Whitman Hotel! Please check out the Visit Walla Walla website for information on food, hangouts, things to do, and so much more!

Walla Walla seems so far away? Can I fly in?
YES! If you do not want to drive across the state, you can fly into the Walla Walla Regional Airport via Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air. The Marcus Whitman Hotel offers a round-trip shuttle service to and from the Walla Walla Regional Airport. You can contact the hotel front desk to schedule your pick-up and drop-off times (509-525-2200). Check the flight schedules on the Alaska Airlines website to see if their flights are the right times for you! Also, if you are an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Member, you can bring home a case of wine with no baggage fee.
