BollardScanTM provides Vibration Testing – (dynamic modal analysis) for the inspection of all types of Mooring Bollards, Cleats and Quick Release Hooks (QRH).

BollardScanTM establishes:

  • “System” frequency
  • Anchoring hardware integrity – detection and location of loose / broken anchoring
  • Displacement (movement) measurements
  • Determines material stiffness values
  • Safe Working Load confirmation, “system” capacity
  • Asset management: create full catalogue/registry of port bollards
  • Approval by Lloyd’s Register
  • Provide insurance on all “qualified” bollards
  • > 20,000 bollards inspected

Through this testing we verify the integrity of the bollard, its foundation and whether it still meets the design requirements of the structure.

All ports are aging, and a current safe working load assessment of the mooring bollard is critical to protect people / assets and to confirm mooring berthing plans.
